Different causes of contact dermatitis?

Many materials, allergens, chemicals, or plants can cause contact dermatitis, a skin condition that is characterized by itchy red skin that generally recedes after time.

Plants that cause allergic contact dermatitis:

  • Plants containing urushiol
  • Poison ivy and poison oak
  • Fruits or vegetables, depending on a patient’s allergies
  • Mango Peel
  • Unroasted shells of Cashew nuts
  • Ginkgo Biloba leaves
  • Japanese lacquer trees

Other irritants causing contact dermatitis:
